Who Is Your
Hello and Welcome! My name is Juliana Owen, I am a Psychologist, Life & Career Coach based in Sydney, Australia.
What you will not find on my LinkedIn profile is that I have a genuine passion and desire to help people. My natural passion does not just come from having a Brazilian, Italian and Portuguese heritage however looking back, it has helped drive a 15-year career working in Recruitment, Talent Acquisition and Human Resources across both Brazil and Australia.
Human behaviours, how people think and the human brain have always fascinated me. My Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology was the start of my exploration into why we do what we do and why we behave in certain ways. By starting to understand the why, we can start to make positive changes and ultimately be happier in the present and future, both in life and at work.
The pursuit for happiness for myself and for my clients is ultimately why I started NMC. I have always had a natural ability to read people, connect with their emotions and provide honest advice. Life itself, is not easy. We all need some support along the way and I believe with 15+ years’ experience helping people find their ideal careers, as well as being a lifelong supporter in helping people overcome their mental health challenges, my main objective as a Coach is to help people kick start that change for good.
As a Life Coach
I take a holistic approach which is centred on you as an individual. You are the expert of your own life and determine the direction and depth of our therapy.
I combine Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) techniques and a deep spiritual understanding and connection to recognise you as a person while facilitating your personal development.
As a Career Coach
I have introduced hundreds of people to new careers and positions in the Sydney market. I have designed and led on many graduate career assessment centres, I have written thousands of resumes and provided full interview coaching at all levels across various industries. Having been a migrant new too beautiful Australia, I have firsthand experience of what you must overcome and how to become successful.
While life and career choices can all seem very daunting, it really does not have to be. I take a direct and rational approach to remove the blockers that are stopping you getting where you want or being someone you want to be.
Outside of my work as a Psychologist, Life & Career Coach, I enjoy practicing meditation and hatha yoga, which is branch of yoga that means “force”. I love music and my favourite style of music is reggae. I love the lyrics; the energy and my all-time favourite is Bob Marley. I get a deep connection through his music and it resonates with who I am in terms of having a positivity to my personality, seeing life as a blessing and taking all challenges as an opportunity to grow, develop myself and others around me. Reading and studying any subjects related to the human body and human brain also fascinates me. I love to feel connected and I use it as food for my brain and thoughts. Nature and a deep connection with the Universe make me smile. I am extremely grateful for life and everything that comes with it.
